Read Dr. MLK Jr. Letter from a Birmingham Jail and answer the following

  • How does MLK use religion to support his actions as part of the Civil Rights Movement?
  • Who is his audience and what is he asking them to do?
  • What metaphors/similes does he use to explain the Civil Rights movement?
  • What elements of the letter would not be used today?
