My Summer Reading List part 1

Every summer, I plan on reading at least one book for fun, one book for work, and one book for leadership or technology.

My first book for the summer is Outcasts United by Warren St. John. I picked it up in the nonfiction section at McKay’s Used Books back in April and haven’t had a chance to read it yet. What caught my eye were two things, used non-fiction tends to be cheap about $1 a book or less, which makes buying multiple copies for a class group read easy. Second, it has a cover endorsement by Ishmael Beah, the author of A Long Way Gone. One of the books my students have enjoyed in the past.

Pictures of book covers in minivans should be a new photo category on Instagram.

I’m also listening to A Swim In A Pond In The Rain by George Saunders because it keeps showing up in my recommendation list on Amazon and some of my friends say it’s a good read. So I figure I’ll give it a go and see what happens.

Libby app is by far the best way for me to listen to audiobooks.
