On June 27, my girls and I went out for a Photowalk of Richmond, KY. These are some of the pictures we took and interesting things we found.

The Madison Co Hall of Justice was built in 1897 as a regional post office and then was used as one of the US District Courts for a decade and then was converted to the county courthouse. It will celebrate its 125th birthday this year.

Here are some shots of Main st. and the buildings on the South side of the street. It wasn’t till we all got home that I released that I didn’t take any shots of the building fronts facing north.

During the last four years, the Richmond Chamber of commerce has been adding and beautifying several parts of downtown and creating development zones. MillStone Park is part of the arts and tourism zone downtown and is the cornerstone of the Millstone Festival that began in 2021. It is on the site of the old Zaring Mill that sat along Dreaming Creek which no longer flows above ground downtown.
