Let My People Go Surfing by Yvon Chouinard is the book everyone was talking about in their boiled downarticles about Patagonia going all in on environmental policy and corporate profits. Skip all the overly simplified interviews and get the whole story from him and what he learned in the late 90s and early 200s about being a leader who listens. Quote to live by, “the first precept of industrial design is that the function of an object should determine it’s design and materials.”

Tribe by Sebastian Junger is straightforward but punch of truth and war. Junger is brutally honest about the addictive nature attracted to becoming a war corespondent and how he relates to being a PTSD victim in a world full of them. I’ve recommend this book to friends, fily, and educators for over five years.

The American Spirit by David McCullough is a wonderful easy read for an afternoon or to pick up and read when you only have a few minutes.
