Figjam for Everyone

After the news last month that Google was ending support and development of Jamboard, Figma announced their shift to feel the void.

Figjam for Education will be the new home for interactive planner boards and the the place for other creatives to be able to replicate their past Jamboard experiences. I know you might be thinking, “I don’t want to relearn another group asynchronous planning tool because all my students are in the classroom again.” But that’s not what Figjam is about. They have loaded an amazing playlist of videos to their YouTube channel and I highly recommend watching the transition trianer if you were a Jamboard user before.

Screen recording of me opening Figjam for the first time since I checked it out last Oct. I first heard about it when Adobe began its $20B purchasing buyout. I made an account then and just left it dormant.

If you are an educator in the US and have a Google Cloud account for your school district, it’s easily accessible using the Google SSO process. I highly recommend checking this out and making plans to use it before Jamboard is sunsetted in 2024. One of the easiest ways to use it and learn it for your students would be to use it in the month of October for your PLC notetaking and ideas. See how you and your colleagues use it and then spin off some ideas for the classroom.
