Blog Update

You may have noticed some new blogs posted this week with dates from earlier in the year. Well, I feel like it is getting time to clean up some of my old posts, rework and publish unfinished drafts, and reorganize random classwork from early on. So during the rest of the year, I will be consolidating old post and archiving some to create a more streamlined database of posts.

Don’t worry I won’t be deleting any of the old content itself. What I plan on doing is cataloging and consolidating a lot of my older classroom resources. I also plan on publishing some blog posts I originally drafted but never finished. My hope is to have something by the end of the school year I can publish as a collection of workbooks for high school teachers focusing on world studies and literature. I don’t have an editor or publisher yet, but I don’t plan on it either.

One of the things I found this year that’s both frustrating and a creative motivator is the limits to which online resources are available to students in my district in my state. Because of legislature that was passed last year, several different resources I’ve used in the past are no longer available to me. As a result I’ve had to rewrite large sections of notes and worksheets to be usable for my classroom but still be able to teach the content. I will say the resources that my school district provides are amazing I just also like to have my own version of certain elements.

With this in mind I have tried to create consistent header graphics for the different blog series on the page. And I have created a 3 year posting cycle for items I would like to post about that address ideas not related to user how-to’s or technology updates.

Hence my new poll. I’m wondering if you are a reader of my content what would you really like to see and yes I know I have a eye listed as an option, but I’m wondering do you really want me to talk about those features or do you want me to talk about other ideas I’m starting to look into more everyday.
