This is part of a 4-part leadership series focusing on the 13 Leadership Principles developed by Sec. Colin Powell. You can download a free poster with all 13 listed or read the other posts by following the link. Or read his book on leadership. (Amazon)
As we kick off February, teachers are moving past the reflect, reset, and rolling through the plan for the second half of the school year. The mid-year reset is a critical time for educators as they aim to get students back on track towards graduation or sustain ongoing success. One excellent resource for initiating change is Colin Powell’s 13 Principles of Leadership.
To honor Sec. Powell, I have created a four-part series on applying these principles to the classroom, and I will be releasing parts of it over the last four months of the school year. Each will be posted on the 4th day of the month from Feb to May. In the meantime, download a handy poster as a reminder of these principles. Stay tuned for more insightful strategies to enhance your teaching!
