So last week I traveled to the Columbus Zoo and had a great time with the family. While there I took some photos of the animals and thought what could I build in Adobe Express. I was looking through the collection when I found this one.

So, then after I went thru about three versions of the final sticker I thought it might be helpful to make a video showing what I did using the Adobe Express App on my phone.
Now there are a couple of key points about the process to remake a similar piece just using the mobile app.
- If you are making a simple layered effect with letters, it helps to make a copy of the original without the background removed.
- Make three copies of the top layer item: one in original color and two to be recolored and used as a shadow layer.
- Make your letters have an outline color that is simlar to the shadow layer of the object.

I then remixed an older sticker using a photo of a tortoise into a new one. This one I started in the Mobile app and then switched to the Desktop app for several reasons.
- It allows for detailed background removal and cutting.
- If you need to create multiple cuts of your top layer, the desktop version can handle the high res photos better.
- Play around with your background to see if one color or look is better.
- The design area allows you to move large pieces of to the side but you can still find them in the layering stack.
In closing, the biggest advice would be to look around and see what kind of trends are happening and and then make your own version using vacation photos. I got my inspiration from a teddy bear hugs shirt that my daughter owns and then took a chance at building some new graphics. This can also be a great review lesson for students since requires they have knowledge of design, text tool, and background removal.
