I will be switching schools this year and have officially accepted a position at STEAM Academy in Lexington, KY. This will be an intradistrict transfer. I will miss my TLC friends and the student families. It was a great four years at TLC and I learned a lot about myself and teaching in that time.

STEAM is a unique hybrid high school based on A/B semester model with about 450 students. Because of the schedule, students can accelerate their HS credits, or get needed remediation each semester. Juniors begin taking college classes at Bluegrass Community College (just down the road) while still being enrolled with us. Students also spend their time working with a community partner as an intern to see what their interest field really is like on a daily basis. There is a close relationship with the faculty at University of Kentucky. STEAM is mentioned in Ted Dintersmith’s book, What Schools Could Be.

That also means my creative mind got a new topic to work on. I enjoy recreating mascots in Midjourney using different styles and keywords. So, checkout below my new collection: Phoenix Squad.
